The National Sunflower Association is hosting their Summer Seminar at the Alerus Center in Grand Forks, North Dakota. Executive Director John Sandbakken says the focus of the seminar is looking forward. “How do we improve our hybrids? What will be the needs of the industry in the next 10, 15 or 30 years? Right now, everything is evolving with what’s happening in the Ukraine and Russia. I think the United States will step up to be more of a leader in sunflower production,” says Sandbakken. “One of our sessions is what will be the future use need? Sunflowers definitely fit into that.”
