The private analytical firm, IHS Markit, is estimating U.S. corn acreage at 90.9 million acres. That’s up 455,000 acres from its May forecast and compares to 89.4 million acres in the last USDA estimate. The planted soybean acreage is estimated at 88.7 million acres, down 280,000 acres from last month and below USDA’s March estimate of 90.9 million acres. IHS Markit is projecting spring wheat acreage at 10.4 million. That’s up 340,000 from its previous estimate and down from the latest 11.2 million forecast from USDA.
