Farm Bureau and the National Pork Producers Council have filed a brief with the U.S. Supreme Court, challenging the constitutionality of California’s Proposition 12. This state law bans the sale of pork that doesn’t meet its production standards, even if the pork was raised outside of California. The farm groups claim Prop 12 is trying to regulate out-of-state commerce and adds to the regulatory burden for farmers nationwide.
