The Federal Railroad Administration has awarded the North Dakota Department of Transportation $6.7 million. This funding will replace 14.5 miles of rail on the Red River Valley & Western Railroad between Independence and Oakes, North Dakota. North Dakota Senator Kevin Cramer said this project will enhance the competitiveness of agricultural transportation in the region.
