The United Nations is trying to facilitate grain and fertilizer exports out of Russia. A senior United Nations official describes the meetings in Moscow as “constructive.” UN officials have also been in Washington, D.C. for negotiations on the same topic. Russian grain and fertilizer exports are not directly sanctioned, but shippers are worried about transportation, insurance and bank transfer issues.
