Midwest Market Solutions President Brian Hoops says the Minneapolis spring wheat contract is trying to incentivize planting while there’s a window to get it done. “After June 5, it’s really difficult to grow a very good spring wheat crop. There’s a small planting window this week: a window of opportunity to get something seeded.” Hoops says soybeans had good export sales this week, according to the USDA. “On the surface, it may not look like an outstanding number, but we’ve already met the USDA’s forecast for this year. Any sales we make are on top of already the USDA’s forecast with three months left to the marketing year.”
