The Justice Department did not seek input from Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack before filing a friend of the court brief urging the Supreme Court not to consider a case about the labeling of glyphosate. Vilsack made that point in response to a question during the Senate Agriculture Committee hearing. Vilsack said he has talked with the Environmental Protection Agency about crop protection and the need to “follow the science.”
