Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, House Speaker Melissa Hortman and Senate Majority Leader Jeremy Miller have come to terms on a broad framework for the end of the legislative session. The plan includes $4 billion to invest in education, public safety and health care and $4 billion for tax relief. That leaves $4 billion from the state’s budget surplus to help the state manage future economic insecurity. The details are still being worked out. The House and Senate conference committee has been unable to finalize the omnibus agriculture bill as the await the financial targets.
