When the weather warms up, gravel roads can be a hazard for farm equipment. “In some cases, there could be severe frost boils on the roads,” said Angie Johnson, farm safety and ranch coordinator, NDSU Extension. Adding equipment and other motorists to the roads becomes a challenge. Safety measures should also be in place before farmers go to the fields. “Do you have your slow-moving vehicle signs, flashers, headlights and mirrors ready to go?”
