Greenhouse gas emissions declined nine percent in 2020 due largely to the pandemic’s impact on travel and economic activity. The EPA reports methane emissions from beef cattle declined slightly. Emissions related to dairy cattle increased marginally. Emissions from all U.S. livestock represent less than three percent of all greenhouse gas emissions nationwide.
