Nearly 500 bulk cargo ships are backed up in Chinese ports with most of the congestion around the Shanghai port. A citywide lockdown is in place to deal with an uptick in COVID cases. That has resulted in a shortage of workers to unload ships. A trucker shortage is also blamed for China’s shipping logjam.
