A Slayton, Minnesota farmer has been sentenced to 12 months in prison, three years of supervised release and over $435,000 in restitution. In 2015, Mark Engelkes pledged a portion of his soybean crop as collateral for a farm program loan. The pledged grain was sold without prior approval.
