The Minnesota Senate unanimously passed legislation that provides financial relief to farmers who were hit hard by last summer’s drought. The $10 million bill includes $7 million for livestock and specialty crop farmers. It also includes money to reimburse the Rural Finance Authority for disaster recovery loans. The bill now moves onto conference committee where differences from both the House and Senate version will be ironed out before being voted by the full House and Senate.
