A protest by tax collectors at the Santos port in Sao Paulo, Brazil is delaying activity for agricultural shipments. Federal inspectors cannot complete their work until the tax collectors have cleared each shipment. That delays payments for major grain companies, like Cargill and ADM. The Santos port is the region’s busiest port, representing nearly one-third of Brazilian soybean exports and half of the corn and soymeal business.
