In less than two weeks, the USDA will release the March Prospective Plantings report. Summit Commodities market analyst Tim Marsh doesn’t anticipate much of an acreage change in the Midwest, but traders are closely watching what happens in the Dakotas. “The weather in the northwestern Corn Belt seems to have a bigger influence on how our acreage changes each year, so we’ll be watching the weather there very closely going into spring.” USDA’s Prospective Planting’s Report will be released on Thursday, March 31.
