It’s been dry in the U.S. plains states and Kansas Wheat CEO Justin Gilpin says that’s having an effect on the Kansas hard red winter wheat crop. “That’s why you’re seeing the lower crop condition ratings from Nebraska all the way to Texas. Kansas winter wheat ratings this past week was rated at 24 percent good to excellent. Recent snowfall helped and we’re hoping for more rain, but it’s a critical time for this crop.”
