Helena Executive Vice President Ward Bloodworth thinks farmers are in good shape for fertilizer heading into spring. “At these price levels, you’re going to have a little bit of profit destruction on the potassium and phosphorus side. Rail logistics are the biggest key. Right now, that has us worried.” Bloodworth says the timing of planting in the Northern Corn Belt works to farmer’s advantage. “I think some of those tons will start to move up and when planting starts to happen, product will be positioned in the Northern Cornbelt.”
