China’s meat imports in the first two months of 2022 are 33 percent lower than a year ago. China brought in 1.07 million tons of meat in the January through February period, down from the 1.6 million tons from the previous year. China has expanded its meat production after rebuilding its pig herds after the African Swine fever decimated most of the population between 2018 and 2019.
