World Weather Incorporated Senior Agriculture Meteorologist Drew Lerner expects to see a decent spring in the Northern Plains. “I don’t think there will be any kind of shortage of moisture, at least not in the eastern Dakotas or Minnesota and points eastward.” Moving west, Lerner is forecasting periodic moisture, but enough to get the fieldwork started. “As we go deeper into May and June, we will start to see seeing wetter bias out there to the west so I do not expect to see another terribly dry year in Montana and the western Dakotas.”
