Limited forage due to the drought has resulted in many livestock producers purchasing hay outside of their region. Challenging weather has forced some to look for additional supplies as well. NDSU Extension Livestock Systems Specialist Janna Block recommends looking into quality forage, packaging type, average bale weight, and presence of weeds or mold to ensure quality forage.
