The USDA Ag Attaché in Brazil is estimating Brazil’s soybean crop at 134.5 million metric tons, larger than USDA’s current estimate. Country Futures market analyst Darrell Holaday is puzzled. “Where we’re at on the Brazilian bean crop is the strangest, I’ve ever seen. CONAB made a big adjustment last week and that’s just not normal; that uncertainty has a lot of people shaking their head, including me.”
