NDSU Livestock Economist Tim Petry says you can expect to see larger runs of heifers come through the auction barns. Despite the drought, replacement heifers are selling at good prices. “It was so dry, people were wondering if there was going to be a demand for replacement heifers and there is. I was just watching a sale recently and there were replacement heifers going for the same price as their steer counterparts.”
