Representative Raja Krishnamoorthi, who chairs the House subcommittee on economic and consumer policy, sent a letter to major U.S. meat processing companies asking for information about price increase son beef, pork, and chicken products. The companies included Tyson Foods, JBS Foods, National Beef and Seaboard. Last month, White House economic advisors said that the biggest meat-processing companies have tripled their own net profit margins since the start of COVID by driving up U.S. meat prices.
