On Tuesday, a U.S. district court judge granted BNSF a temporary restraining order to block two unions from a strike during the supply chain crisis. The judge says the strike would cause BNSF substantial, immediate and irreparable harm. At issue is a worker attendance policy. The two unions blocked from striking represent 17,000 railroad workers. At this time, there’s no statement available from the unions. BNSF tells the Red River Farm Network they’re pleased with the ruling; the rail company will continue to take employee feedback on the new system. The Fort Worth Star Telegram says the case is expected to be appealed to the fifth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.
