For the third time in recent weeks, President Joe Biden addressed the issue of competition. Heading into a meeting of his White House Competition Council, Biden said these big mergers have resulted in fewer choices and higher prices. “What we’ve seen over the last few decades is less competition and more concentration and that literally holds the economy back,” said Biden. “In too many industries, a handful of giant companies dominate the entire market; we see it in big ag.” Biden promised more protections are coming for farmers and ranchers selling beef, pork and poultry. The president also spoke about the ‘right to repair’ and his efforts to increase enforcement against illegal repair restrictions.
