South American weather remains a major driver of the corn and soybean markets. Progressive Ag Marketing market analyst Bryan Strommen says the recent rains in the southern parts of Brazil and Argentina were welcome “but there’s also a lot of talk these rains may be too late for the crop that’s already pollinated.” Tension between Russia and the Ukraine is a big consideration for the wheat market. “Last week’s meeting (between U.S. and Russian leaders) took pressure off the wheat complex. Russia also lowered their export taxes.”
