The 2022 Potato Expo is happening in-person in Anaheim, California week. “This year’s Expo is about making the potato industry’s collective business that much more vibrant,” said Kam Quarles, CEO, National Potato Council. “We’re encouraging more networking this year and have changed a few things to make it that way.” Starting Wednesday, there will be educational sessions focusing on research, promotion, markets, trade and policy. There will also be a deeper discussion on inputs and the supply chain. “We’ve been working with Potatoes USA to have an economic team looking at all of the issues surrounding inflation as well as the supply chain breakdown,” said Quarles. “The economic team will roll out a study on what the potato industry can expect for pricing and availability for necessary inputs and transportation access.” If you are attending the Potato Expo, double check the COVID protocols before traveling. RRFN’s coverage is presented by AMVAC, Corteva Agriscience, Gowan USA, the National Potato Council and Elatus Fungicide from Syngenta.
