The Supreme Court will look at three high-profile agricultural cases this week to determine if these petitions will be accepted. Hundreds of cases are filed each year and about 80 of them are heard by the Supreme Court. The justices will consider EPA’s authority over the Clean Water Act and an appeals court ruling that stopped the year-round use of 15 percent ethanol blends. There’s also a challenge to California’s Proposition 12, which puts limits on how chickens, pigs and veal calves are raised. A High Court conference on these cases will take place on Friday. Bayer’s challenge of the Roundup settlement may still be heard with the Supreme Court asking for more information on the case earlier this month.
