The shortages of glyphosate, glufosinate and other crop inputs has farmers scrambling. Pioneer Agronomy Manager Dan Berning says those issues are part of the crop management considerations this winter. “You may need to be thinking of not only Plan A, but Plan B,” siad Berning. “Think about how we can utilize systems or products that you haven’t used as much the last several years, but there is a pretty broad range of products to give us that flexibility.” Whatever happens with the supply of crop inputs, weed control must be a priority. “No matter what we use for technology, we need to start with a good foundation program up front followed by a good post-emerge program, a good two-pass or maybe three-pass program is needed depending on your weed spectrum.”
