Even with the pandemic, the 2021 fiscal year was a record year for the H-2A temporary agricultural worker program. There were nearly 318,000 H-2A positions certified by the Labor Department. That’s the first time the program topped 300,000 jobs. There were changes in the quarterly data due to travel uncertainties associated with COVID. Meanwhile, the Department of Labor is proposing a change in its rules associated with the wages paid to agricultural guest workers through the H-2A program.
