The Canadian Pacific and Kansas City Southern railroads have received regulatory approval from the Mexican government. This deal still needs approval from shareholders with a vote by CP stockholders on December 8th and Kansas City Southern stockholders on December 10th. The U.S. Surface Transportation Board is also reviewing this merger. The combination of CP and Kansas City Southern creates the first single-line railroad connecting the U.S., Canada and Mexico.
