Concern over a new COVID variant has the grain markets on edge. “How that impacts commodity sentiments, in terms of emerging markets, currencies and physical demand, is the top story for the markets,” said Mike Zuzolo, president, Global Commodity Analytics and Consulting. “The second story is Australia’s weather isn’t getting better. We’re losing more of the wheat crop in that part of the world. That’s the part of the world USDA has stoked up on exports and that’s probably not going to happen.”
