The Chinese agriculture ministry is calling for a policy change that could lead to biotech crops being grown commercially being grown in China. China has been involved in biotech research, but has not approved the planting of biotech crops. It’s not clear when the first traits will be approved, but it is possible the Chinese seed industry could be ready to launch within a year.
