To address the supply chain disruptions facing the dairy industry, the International Dairy Foods Association has created a Supply Chain Task Force. “Our supply chain is hurting and it’s going to take an all-hands-on-deck approach to fix it,” said Michael Dykes, president/CEO, IDFA. “At any given time in recent weeks, between 70 to 90 cargo ships were anchored outside the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach waiting to unload thousands of containers.” Due to the supply chain bottleneck, Dykes said the U.S. is unable to fulfill 22 percent of ag-related foreign sales. The IDFA Supply Chain Task Force will work with industry partners to find solutions to this crisis.
