Southern Minnesota Beet Sugar Cooperative is requiring its growers to leave 20 percent of the crop in the field. “It’s going to be close to 36.5 tons on average,” said Todd Geselius, vice president of agriculture, SMSC. “That’s six tons greater than our previous crop. It’s a tremendous crop; the crop blew up on us at the end.”
