Elbow Lake, Minnesota area farmers are wrapping up fall harvest. Scott Swenson finished last week. “It’s wet now; we’ve had good rains lately. There’s not much corn left standing in the area, but farmers will get it soon.” Swenson is comfortable with the soil moisture recharge going into next spring. “Every time it rained in October my neighbors would be disappointed, because it would delay harvest, but it has to rain some days,” he explains. “I don’t think we ever get much moisture out of the snow and it just runs off. I like rains in the fall and I’m glad we got some. We’re recharged pretty good in this area.”
