The Biden Administration has announced its strategy to reach a net-zero goal for greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. The plan includes the use of clean energy to generate electricity. Regarding agriculture, the report promotes climate-smart farming practices. Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack is part of the U.S. delegation at the climate change conference in Glasgow, Scotland this week. “We are making sure that folks understand that America is leading in efforts to expand significantly investments in ag research and climate-smart practices.” Senate Agriculture Committee Chair Debbie Stabenow and National Farmers Union President Rob Larew are also representing U.S. agriculture at the UN climate change summit.
