More than 51,000 FFA members and guests received a warm welcome from the National FFA Officer team during the opening general session of convention this week. “Welcome back to Indianapolis, y’all,” said Doster Harper, retiring National FFA President. “After two years, we have finally come back (in-person). Everyone loves a great come back story. Our organization is writing its own come back story and it starts now.” Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack also had a few things to say to FFA members attending the first session. “Opportunities for a career in agriculture are diverse and they’re often at the forefront of addressing some of the challenges we face as a nation and world in the 21st century…you all are tomorrow’s leaders in agriculture. I have no doubt the future will be bright with you at the helm.”
