Yields are not impressive, averaging 107 bushels per acre, but state farmers are harvesting more corn than ever. The area harvested for corn is 3.8 million acres, up 115 percent from one year ago. Total corn production is projected to be up 65 percent. The area harvested for soybeans in North Dakota was also record large, up 27 percent from one year ago. Yields averaged 26 bushels per acre, down eight from last year. Canola acreage is also record high, but yields are at a record low 1,100 pounds per acre. Dry bean yields are estimated at 930 pounds per acre, down 700 pounds from last year. North Dakota sugarbeet yields are at 26.9 tons per acre, up two tons per acre from one year ago.
