Nutrien Ag Solutions Principal Atmospheric Scientist Eric Snodgrass says an active weather pattern will make its way to the Northern Plains in the next week, bringing some rain. “I looked at the 10 day probability of getting at least an inch of rain. What I see for the north is between a 70 to 90 percent chance of that. If this comes in the form of storms, this rainfall could be heavier.” Snodgrass says the longer-term weather outlook shows La Nina, which means a better chance for a colder, snowier winter. “Last year was not one of those years. We had a La Nina, but kept missing all of the winter weather systems that delivered the snow. Winter is going to be up and down this year.”
