McDonald’s has announced plans to cut greenhouse gas emissions to net zero by 2050. That begins with a cut in the emissions by one-third for its suppliers and restaurants worldwide by 2030. McDonald’s Chief Sustainability Officer Jenny McColloch told Reuters that “beef is a big opportunity to help drive impact.” The fast food chain is the one of the biggest buyers of beef throughout the world.
