Wimbledon, North Dakota farmer Joe Ericson is pleasantly surprised with some of the soybeans being harvested this past week. “The prevent plant fields look better. They held the moisture better than last year’s cropped fields. It’s average-to-above average on those prevent plant fields.” Ericson says the yields range from the 20s to 40 bushels per acre. “It’s a big swing. We haven’t had terrible yields. I don’t think we’ll get into the teens for the early planted soybeans. The longer maturing soybeans are still green and we’ll have to see about those when the time comes.”
