The Canadian Pacific and Kansas City Southern Railway are one step closer to a deal. Over the weekend, Kansas City Southern told the Canadian National it would not go forward with their agreement, but the CN still has five business days to make amendments to its $33.6 billion offer. CP is bidding $31 billion for KCS and is already approved by the regulators to use a voting trust, which was a hurdle for CN.
