A JBS-USA beef packing plant in Grand Island, Nebraska had a fire on Sunday night. This interrupted production at the facility. A statement on the JBS Grand Island Beef Facebook page said at this time, fabrication and slaughter of the A and B shift will not be working at all on Monday. JBS has not issued a formal statement on their website about the extent of the fire yet. Allendale Chief Strategist Rich Nelson says this plant is expected to be back up and running by the end of the week. “At least for right now, we do have a small shortfall in the livestock markets. On the positive side, things should be fixed soon.”
