The National Agricultural Statistics is taking extra steps to review acreage estimates for corn, soybeans, sugarbeets and four other crops. Surveys, satellite-based data and the latest information from the Farm Service Agency and Risk Management Agency are being considered. If this information justifies any changes, USDA will publish the planted and harvested acreage estimates in the September 10th crop report. In October, NASS will also again review the corn, soybean and sugarbeet acreage. Canola, dry edible bean and sunflower acreage will also be evaluated in October.
