The Line 3 Replacement Project is making progress. Project director Barry Simonson says it’s nearing 80 percent completion. “The weather has been cooperative. There hasn’t been a lot of rain and the drought conditions have created some challenges. Overall, we’ve seen good progress. We’re also doing well with safety and environmental progress.” Simonson says the restoration project for the pipeline is also going well. “As you may recall, 100 percent of the pipeline was installed over the winter. Right now, our contractor is about 65 to 70 percent with final restoration, very impactful for farmers being able to get in the fields. We’re poised to get that done this year.”
