Grand Farm’s Board of Directors is accepting Request for Proposals for a new location with a deadline of July 30. Microsoft TechSpark Manager Taya Spelhaug is on the board of directors. She says four communities submitted letters saying they would apply, including Kindred, North Dakota. “We have three key aspects we’re looking at for this new location and the first is leadership. If we don’t have good leaders in that community, Grand Farm won’t succeed. We’ll also need upwards of 160 acres of land and infrastructure. To build a new building, we especially need broadband.” Proximity to the Fargo airport is also being considered. Grand Farm is expected to make a decision by the Space Ag Conference in September.
