In a new study, the Association of Equipment Manufacturers, National Corn Growers Association, American Soybean Association and CropLife America are looking at the environmental benefits of precision agriculture. AEM Agricultural Services Manager Austin Gellings says the full adoption of precision agriculture has many benefits, including carbon reduction. “At our current adoption rates of precision ag technology, we’re at 10.1 million megatons of carbon we’ve avoided. If we reach the full adoption, we could reach 27.4 million megatons avoided. For perspective, that’s like taking two to three percent of U.S. cars off the road annually.” Gellings was part of the Cultivate Conference. Hear the interview.
