Rolette County, North Dakota farmer Matt Mongeon is spraying herbicides on the small grains this week. “We’re in a limbo moment right now, trying to figure out how much money we want to put into the wheat and its potential. We are trying to keep the weed pressure at bay right now. I don’t think we’ll get a fungicide applied.” Mongeon expects to make a decision on the fate of those small grains in the next two weeks. “Fields are all over the place. We have spring wheat that’s flowering and some not even close to starting to head out yet. It will be a wait-and-see what happens, but it’s not looking good.”
