U.S. Commodities President Don Roose says this continues to be very much a weather market with traders eyeing the latest forecast. “Moisture is needed immediately in the dry areas as drought continues to expand. It’s paramount the weather starts to straighten out in areas like Iowa and the Northern Plains. We’ll watch to see if this heat comes back.” Roose says cooler temperatures in the short-term help crops, but the Midwest needs rain. “The crops are stressed in areas and they’re likely just holding on.”
